ABOUT
Hey, I'm Jake.
I've been running a wedding photography business full time since 2015. I love creating, and after 130 weddings, I felt as though I was no longer growing or challenging myself. When I first started my business, I made my website using a Wordpress template. I was eager to customize as many features as I could, but with my limited knowledge at the time, I had to compromise.
Several years later, I decided to dive into web development with the goal of re-creating my website the way I had intended many years ago. That project instantly grew into a passion for web design and development. At this time, I applied for an IT support role with J.J. Keller to take a step towards a career in tech, and I'm now ready to take my next step.
My focus thus far has been on front-end development and design, but I'm now focusing on learning back-end development with Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB. My goal is to be comfortable using the MEVN stack by next year. Since the day I picked up web development I've built projects, studied 8+ hours each day, and have been completely consumed by it. I've found my passion and I couldn't be more excited to learn and progress in it.
